PT. Asuransi Mega Pratama has been in operations under the name PT. Maskapai Asuransi Ikrar Lloyd since 1959. In the middle of 2003, PT. Prima Eksekutif took over all of Bakrie Finance Corporations (BFC) shares at PT. Maskapai Asuransi Ikrar Lloyd. On March 8th, 2001 the company officially commenced operations under the new name PT. Asuransi Mega Pratama.
