My experience has been something I am truly grateful for, Alhamdulillah. The Best Company for me :)
The good thingsI worked in a warm and supportive environment, and I truly appreciated how Unilever always prioritized the safety and well-being of its employees. I experienced this firsthand when I was assigned to an area with frequent conflict. The security team constantly monitored the situation and made sure we were safe, reminding us that safety is the number one priority in this company. Their support made a huge difference, especially during challenging times in the field. I am genuinely grateful for the many years I spent at Unilever as a senior sales leader. Over more than a decade, I grew not only professionally but also personally. The benefits provided were excellent and complete, and my family was always well taken care of. Because of this, I was able to work with peace of mind, knowing that both my safety and my family’s well-being were protected. My time at Unilever shaped me in many positive ways, and I will always be thankful for the opportunities and experiences I gained there.
The challengesAs a senior sales leader, one of the main challenges is managing and selling hundreds of SKUs, although this is supported by strong systems and adequate budgets. Another challenge is the slow pace of adaptation, which has sometimes resulted in market share being taken by competitors. Strategies can occasionally shift and a significant amount of time is spent on reporting and administrative tasks, reducing the time available to be in the field. If job titles are important to you, this company may not be ideal, as even highly experienced senior sales leaders with more than a decade of service can remain at the ‘Deputy’ level. Promotions are limited and highly competitive, especially against management trainee talents. However, Unilever continues to improve and genuinely listens to its employees.
