The International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank, has implemented the Program for Eastern Indonesia SME Assistance (IFC-PENSA). One of these programs is the IFC-PENSA Agribusiness Linkages which focuses on the development of three key value chains, Integrated Poultry; Cocoa and Seaweed, providing services such as access to information/technology (A2IT), access to market (A2M) and access to finance (A2F) in order to improve the competitiveness of these industries in Indonesia.IFC with funding from AusAID under their Australian Indonesian Partnership (AIP), will work collaboratively with the World Bank (through the Kecamatan Development Project (KDP)) and ACIAR (Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research) and is now in the process of designing and will look to commence implementation of a program of support called the Smallholder Agribusiness Development Initiative (SADI) that’s overall objective is to improve productivity and profitability of smallholder agribusinesses in four target provinces in Eastern Indonesia. SADI has three separate but interlinked programsSubprogram 1: Enhanced Smallholder Production and Marketing – KDP PlusSubprogram 2: Strengthened Private Sector Agribusiness and SME Development –IFC SADISubprogram 3: Support for Market-Driven Adaptive Research - PREMIFC will be responsible for the implementation of sub-program 2, which will build on and expand the experience gained by IFC under its existing IFC-PENSA agribusiness program. IFC-SADI is currently looking for the following managerial and program positions. The program’s first phase is expected to last for 3.5 years from July 2006.
