Factory Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Factory Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility in Batam, Riau Islands. As the Factory Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of our production processes, driving continuous improvement, and leading a team of dedicated professionals. This full-time position is crucial in supporting the growth and success of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

1. Overall Factory Operations Management
   - Fully responsible for the daily operations of the factory, including production, quality, equipment, safety, warehousing, and personnel, ensuring the achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
   - Develop and execute the factory’s annual operations plan, coordinate capacity planning and production scheduling to ensure orders are delivered on time, with quality, and in full.
   - Optimize standardized assembly line processes, continuously improving Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and production productivity.

2. Lean Production and Continuous Improvement
   - Lead lean production projects (e.g., 6S, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen) to systematically reduce waste, improve product yield and quality stability.
   - Promote visual management on the production floor and PDCA cycles, establishing efficient problem-solving and quality improvement mechanisms.

3. Cost Control and Supply Chain Coordination
   - Develop and manage the factory’s annual budget, strictly controlling production costs such as raw materials, energy consumption, labor, and maintenance.
   - Reduce costs through inventory optimization, scrap rate control, energy management, etc., and regularly prepare factory operations analysis reports to support decision-making.
   - Coordinate with procurement, logistics, warehousing and other departments to ensure smooth material supply and an efficient supply chain that responds to production needs.

4. Team Building and Personnel Management
   - Responsible for recruiting, training, motivating, and managing production and related teams, improving team skills and cohesion.
   - Establish and improve performance appraisal systems, develop local junior management talents, and build an efficient and stable localized team.

5. Safety, Compliance, and Environmental Management
   - Implement the factory’s workplace safety responsibility system, ensuring compliance with Indonesian local laws and regulations regarding safety, environmental protection, and labor.
   - Promote a safety culture, regularly organize safety training and hazard inspections, and prevent major safety accidents.

6. Cross-departmental Coordination and Headquarters Liaison
   - Work closely with headquarters’ R&D, supply chain, quality, sales, and other departments to facilitate the smooth introduction of new products and processes in the factory.
   - Represent the factory in handling relationships with local government, communities, suppliers, and other external parties, safeguarding the company’s interests.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Management, or a related field.

• 8+ years of manufacturing factory management experience, including at least 3 years in overall factory management (Plant Manager or equivalent).

• Experience in electronics, machinery, FMCG, automotive components, or tobacco heated not burn (HNB) industries is preferred.

• Proficient in lean production, cost control, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO9001), with proven successful lean improvement cases.

• Familiar with the complete factory operation processes including production planning, equipment maintenance, warehousing, and logistics.

• Possess data analysis and financial budgeting skills, able to independently prepare operations analysis reports.

• Excellent team management, cross-cultural communication, and problem-solving abilities, able to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.

• Must be fluent in Chinese (listening, speaking, reading, writing).
