A good place to learn; not much to stay for.
Hal-hal baikBeing an online news office, there were no constricting uniform policies that might come as overly demanding. You can also learn a lot if you aren't well versed in journalism.
The low wage isn't to be fully blamed with the company, though, as the industry tends to race to the bottom. Once you're a journalist, you know you're in for a hard(er) time, so I didn't expect too much benefits. The company delivers well in this department, mainly because it's relatively tidy in management, both in team level and HR level.
TantanganThe company should be able to elaborate its policies to the employees; much of the policies didn't make any immediate sense to the lower-level staffs, and the management tend to leave it at "it's our boss' wish".
The company should also restructure its working pace so even if the work is hard, it feels like the staffs emotionally relate to their work, creating a sense of belonging. The "get good" culture was too strong. This should be a silver lining for the low wage and mediocre benefits as well as the difficulty to get on the career ladder, but the company did not deliver.
