Sites great - rest not so great
The good thingsthe people on the front line and on the sites are great. everyone enjoys working together
The challengesUpper management and leadership in TAHO. Extreme favouritism - some advanced roles dont even get advertised as person is already selected before it becomes available.

A short one but a good one.
The good thingsGood pay, tools, vehicles and depots. Well organised and run.
The challengesFinished their contract and left Canberra suddenly, which was disappointing. Didn't last long but it was good while it was going.

The most enabled rogue environment you’ll ever encounter
    The good thingsLifestyle roster 7/7
The challengesThis company is notorious for supervisors that manipulate the rules to suit themselves and only people in the supervisors purple circle will only be progressed. Operators are treated like they are bottom of the barrel people. Supervisors are given inadequate (zero) training and possess bare minimum people skills- they are glorified digger operators with zero capacity to effectively lead people with morals and ethics. This is a company that when it comes to production do not care about their people, you are just a number and someone in a seat to move dirt. They do not care truly for safety (only when they need to because the client is hounding them) they will do anything and everything to hit numbers for bcm moved. If you sustain an injury, forget about being supported- you’ll be written off and they’ll do whatever they can to prove it was pre existing. I do not reccomend working for this company. 0/10

Not worth it - save the emotional stress and look elsewhere
The good thingsLeaving after seeing the true colours in people :)
The challengesSelections in management. Certain people are very uneducated to be responsible for others in this area. Systems and selected softwares are shocking to deal with. Overall the team structure in the payroll space was toxic.

Perfect site if great workmates & absolutely no up-skilling or career progression is what you want!!
The good thingsI loved the people I worked with!
The challengesConstantly being over looked for any type of training!! Sadly it didn’t matter how many times I put in requests for up-skilling, if I wasn’t close friends of the supervisors/leading hands or I wasn’t on my knees, then I wasn’t going to receive any sort of up-skilling… clearly I didn’t do either! It’s very disappointing when you go there with truck skills , and after a couple of years, the only thing you gain is 1 extra truck skill… but then you watch a leading hands mate. come in as an NTI (with absolutely no prior machinery skills!), and then within 6 months they are fully passed out on not only the mechanical and electrical trucks but also on the dozer!! That’s just one example tho… I watched other NTI’s/mates that started wayyyy after me advance ahead of me until I finally I’d decided that i had had enough and left!!

DON’T DO IT. FIND A JOB ELSEWHERE
The good thingsAnyone bellow the supervisor role was amazing. Met some very nice and intelligent people
The challengesWorking here was nothing but stress and headaches. It feels like they hire anyone for management or supervisory roles just to fill in positions, no matter how little experience they have. Some managers seem obsessed with acting like “the boss” instead of actually helping the team. Some of the ridiculous things youll have to deal with -They single you out for the tiniest things -They try to blame you for things you didn’t do -Micromanage every step you take -Make weird, random rules as they go -Act nice in front of their boss, then flip once they leave It’s exhausting, demoralizing, and stressful. You spend more time dealing with management’s nonsense than actually getting work done.

Same issues as owner miner’s, but lower paid. Avoid if you can!
The good thingsMost of the people below management level were wonderful people to work with including supervisors.
The challengesThere were a lot of people in management that were very green and not suited to the role they were prematurely elevated to. University degrees doesn’t mean you know what you’re doing and it showed.

Working at this site for Thiess has been a great experience and I have loved my time here. I would recommend working for this company.
The good thingsSite culture is very good; Thiess have an 'above and below the line' benchmark of behaviour and appear to adhere to this. Management is strong, encouraging and supportive.
The challengesVolume of work in this finance role was more than I could competently manage.

    Terrible culture promoted by management.
The good thingsThe crew. Great people to work with.
The challengesManagement. Ongoing failure to uphold company standards and flouting Thiess Core Values, supervisors shutting out good people from career progression within the Company and in many cases preventing them from utilising their existing skillsets, resulting in daily disruptions in workflow and forestalling streamlined production processes. It would do them well to understand they are employees of Thiess and should do what is in the best interests of the Company - not their own - and conduct themselves accordingly.

Started working amongst the payroll field. The expectations of performing at a high achievement, was placed with limited training provided. The teams input to support new coming staff members was underwhelming. Management, especially who chose to ignore educational gaps. And allowed for no succession to be raised. High turn over amongst the team.
The good thingsFlexibility in working from home Good salary
The challenges-Very limited to no training provided -Highly critical in performance -Lack of a team interaction
