In the early 90’s, the fashion industry grew rapidly, especially in surf, skate and street wear. This growth gave impact and brought a lot of changes in the lifestyle and fashion for the young, and funky. The first enthusiasts in Indonesia were surfers, and travelers who visited Bali. Therefore it's of no surprise that the beginning of this trend started on the famous island of the god. With the increasing demand for the surf, skate, and street wear, there began an awakening of stores who sell these products around Kuta beach. This opened a new and promising market. Lots of youngsters who traveled to Bali were interested in trying and buying those products. But at this point in time if they wanted to buy these products, this meant travel to Bali. This cost time and money. Seeing this condition and the increased demand for surf, skate and street wear, especially in Jakarta, the first store outside Bali was opened and named POINT BREAK. The first POINT BREAK store was opened at Blok M Plaza. The stores continued to open at Pondok Indah Mall, Plaza Senayan, Taman Anggrek Mall, Ciputra Mall, Palembang Square, Kelapa Gading Mall, Bandung Super Mall, Surabaya Tunjungan Plaza, Panakkukang Mall, Supermall Pakuwon Indah, and Sun Plaza Medan. At the end of 2006, the total number of outlets was 35 , including the sister company i.D. Girl which spread throughout Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, Palembang, and Medan. At Point Break and Point Break World, enthusiasts of surf, skate, and street wear can get all the newest products from numerous brands, such as Billabong, Ripcurl, Quiksilver, Rusty, Roxy, Oakley, No Fear, Mooks, Cult, Nike 6.0, Reef, Nixon, DC, Bico, id girl, Globe, Vibe Today, Dragon, Adidas, Vonzipper, Surfer Girl, Hurley, Urban, Kustom, Folklore, Kuta Lines, Power Balance, Electric, Tokyo Flash, and Mighty Wallet. In the year 2012, two new stores with a new concept by Selected Brand were re-opened, Point Break Bandung Supermal, Ciputra World Surabaya and Samarinda. Until now, PT. Point Break Indonesia has four Point Break World stores ( PBW Plaza Senayan, PBW Duta Mall Banjarmasin, PBW Panakkukang Mall, PBW Tunjungan Plaza 3) and 23 Point Break stores spread throughout Indonesia.
