The shop was originally named Mr. Lawson’s Milk Store. In 1959, Lawson's was acquired as a Consolidated Food subsidiary, and Lawson’s became a network of retail stores. In 1974 the Japanese supermarket chain Daiei collaborated with Consolidated Foods. Both founded Daiei Lawson in April 1975. The first store in Japan was opened on June 14, 1975, in Minami, Sakurazuka, Toyonaka-shi, Osaka. The first shop at that time, sold American-themed party food and was very different from Lawson's store today. And in 1996, from the name Daiei Convenience System, Co.Ltd changed to Lawson, Inc. In February 2000, Lawson formed a business alliance with Mitsubishi Corporation. In May 2011, Lawson opened its 10,000th store in Japan. And it didn't stop there, until September 2103 Lawson had 11,455 stores in Japan (Wikipedia). After success in Japan, then working on the Chinese market in the city of Shanghai, Lawson, the top Japanese retailer, collaborated with retailers in Indonesia, by cooperating with PT.
