Asuransi Jiwa Tugu Mandiri, the Ministry of Finance Indonesia, some Indonesia Moeslim Enterpreuners, and some technical assistence from Syarikat Takaful Malaysia, Bhd.Furthermore, Takaful Indonesia established PT Asuransi Takaful Keluarga (Takaful Keluarga) worked on Islamic life insurance sector and PT Asuransi Takaful Umum (Takaful Umum) working on Islamic general insurance sector on August 4, 1994. Takaful Keluarga was inauguratedby the Finance Minister at the time, Mar’ie Muhammad and started operation since August 25, 1994. While Takaful Umum was inaugurated by the Ministry Research anf Technology/ Chairman of BPPT Prof. Dr. B. J. Habibie as chairman and founder of ICMI and began operating on June 2, 1995. Since then, the Takaful Keluarga and Takaful Umum developed into of the leading insurance companies in Indonesia.During the time, STMB became shareholder by capital into Takaful Indonesia in 1997, then followed by several additional placements until becoming majority shareholder in 2004. Its commitment to strangthen the company, evidenced by injecting capital directly into Takaful Keluarga in 2009.In its development on 2000, Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) became one of the shareholders in the company, and then it is followed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) on 2004.Gaining various achievements, the ISO 9001:2008 certificate as the lates international standards for quality management system, each for Takaful Keluarga of Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Norway and Takaful Umum from SGS Jaz ANZ, New Zealand-, are the evidences of the commitment of Takaful Indonesia to improve the quality and to maintain the consistency continously againts the society.Beside those achievements above, Takaful als gained some achievements in their progress such insurance Media Magazines Infobank, Investor, etc.
