Responsibilities:

• Position Description



• This position is for an SAP Basis expert and perform duties as a Shift Lead during the shift cycles. The individual will be responsible for some or all of the following tasks:



• 1) Perform SAP installations, upgrades and basic configurations conforming to the Systems Dynamic Service for SAP standards.
• 2) Design and implementation of high availability and disaster recovery mechanism.
• 3) Writing/refining installation, configuration and support manuals
• 4) Writing standards/cookbooks on SAP implementation
• 5) Design, develop and maintain infrastructure processes and tools that support and enable the T-Systems Dynamic Service for SAP standards
• 6) Design, develop and implement new technologies / services or upgrades to existing technologies.
• 7) Keep abreast of technology trends and assessment of the cost benefits of implementing new products and services.
• 8) Assess customer requests for new or improved products and services and onboard these into SAP Hosting product portfolio.
• 9) Look for continuous service improvement opportunities and efficiency gains. Perform detailed analyses and provide recommendations.
• 10) Work with SAP Operations team in performing root cause analyses of critical operational problems.
• 11) Work in shift mode, managing ticket queues ensuring updates are performed on a daily basis.
• 12) Generate statistics during his shift
• 13) Highlight critical issue and produce summary reports. Reporting Relationships
• 14) This position will have direct reporting line to the SAP Operation Lead.



• Position Requirements



• We are looking for candidates with broad technical skills who have the ability to pick up new skills and technology to become the Shift Lead during his shift.



• Technical skills and experience that we desire and expect to be at the expert level:



• 1) 8 - 10 years of IT experience mainly in SAP Basis, AIX and Oracle infrastructure project activities.
• 2) Extensive experience with the installation, upgrade and configuration of SAP products such as ECC, BW, PI, ITS, Enterprise Portal, Solution Manager, APO, BW-A and NWDI (both NW 2004 and 7 release)
• 3) Experience in Netweaver Java Administration, Performance Tuning, Configuration, Patch Management and JSPM
• 4) Experience with the detection of performance issues related to databases and performing database reorganizations, etc
• 5) Performance tuning, sizing and capacity planning for large complex landscapes.
• 6) Ability to providing architectural advice on hosting strategy for new SAP solutions
• 7) Capability to translate business requirements into appropriate technical solutions.
• 8) Knowledge of monitoring and administration tools
• 9) Backup, Restore & Archive Techniques
• 10) Good communication / presentation skills (English)
• 11) Strong drive for project completion
• 12) Understand the impact of issues / incidents on the business



• Additional requirements which will be considered a PLUS:



• 1) Good knowledge of RunSAP methodology
• 2) Certification in SAP/Portal, Unix/Wintel or Oracle/MaxDB/SQLPLUS
• 3) Programming experience in ABAP
• 4) Programming experience in J2EE
• 5) Experience with partitioned HW (Failover mechanisms and load balancing scenarios)
• 6) Programming/scripting experience with various programming languages
• 7) Experience with Interfacing and Scheduling products such as Connect Direct, Control-M, etc
• 8) Good understanding of ITIL procedures
• 9) Project management skills, but should be able to run small projects
• 10) Customer and Service minded
• 11) Ability to discuss plans or various levels
• 12) Work on Shifts
• 13) Good Communication skills
• 14) Good stakeholder management

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
• Required skill(s): SAP Basis.
• At least 7 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Preferably Senior Executives specializing in IT/Computer - Software or equivalent. Job role in Software Engineer/Programmer or Supervisor/Team Lead.
• 10 Full-Time positions available.
